I just love to be creative.  Starting at an early age my grandmother was an inspiration to me.  She was an excellent seamstress but she also did leather tooling, making purses, belts, billfolds, etc., she was a superb knitter.  One of my most treasured items is a coat sweater she knit for me while I was in high school.  She not only did custom sewing for others, she made all my mom's clothes when she was a child and made clothes for me when I was a baby as well as an adult.  My mom would talk about her going to the store and sitting in her car to sketch out the latest design at the clothing store, then go home and sew it from her notes.

My mom was very artistic in her own right.  She did not sew much, but did ceramics, crocheted and painted.  I can't leave out my Dad in this trip down memory lane.  He and my brother both were very good at drawing and painting.  My dad also designed and completed latch hook rugs when that was a popular craft project.

Anyway, as you can see I have the gene's and started early with knitting and sewing.

Several years ago Martha Pullen Company started a Teaching Beginning Sewing Licensing program.  I was in the first group of graduates.  The projects and instructions are just excellent.  The projects are really easy and very stylish.  The next year Martha started a Teaching Serger Licensing program and again I was in the first group to graduate.   I started teaching sewing and serging and have found a whole new passion in my life.

In February, 2006, I joined the team of Husqvarna Viking as a freelance educator.  I will be conducting demonstrations, trunk shows and workshops across the United States for this wonderful company.  If you want the best sewing machine or serger on the market, get a Husqvarna Viking.
